2face Idibia
In 2011, Nigerian artists 2Face Idibia (now known as 2Baba) and D’banj jointly received the BET Award for Best International Act: Africa, marking the first time Nigerian artists were honored with this accolade. This recognition significantly elevated their profiles on the international music scene.
Prior to this, in 2005, 2Face Idibia achieved another milestone by becoming the first African artist to win the MTV Europe Music Award (EMA) for Best African Act, highlighting his influence in the global music industry.
These achievements not only underscored the growing global appeal of Nigerian music but also paved the way for subsequent Nigerian artists to gain international recognition.
